Historian Peter Watson was up for the challenge, and managed to come up with an encyclopedic volume that dwells into the intellectual heritage of the previous century that is both accessible and quite enjoyable. To attempt explaining all the great intellectual achievements of the twentieth century then, particularly independently of (almost all) the great political events, seems like a daunting, and even ridiculous task. ![]() ![]() The field of the history of ideas is quite tricky to handle, as questions of influence and connections need to be addressed while at the same time making sense of different conceptualizations and the contexts in which they appear or are being used. ![]()
